Crochet Heirloom Quilt Class

We are excited to have Roseanna Murray from Moara Crochet joining us again this year in August! 

Learn how to create a beautiful heirloom quilt with the Crochet Heirloom Quilt Class, led artist and designer Roseanna Murray. In this class, you will learn the intricate art of crocheting to create a treasured quilt that will last for generations. Perfect for experienced crocheters or those wanting to improve from the basics.

A workshop perfect for those who are ready to push their crochet skills to the next level, to create crochet heirloom quilt motifs which can be connected in a variety of ways to create bags, cushions, pockets and blankets.

To join the class, you must know the basic magic circle, chain, slip stitch, double crochet and treble crochet stitches.

We will cover working in the round to create motifs, including the basic granny square and a half and half granny square, pattern and chart reading, pattern abbreviations and terminology; professional finishing techniques and tips including joining motifs and edging.

The workshop will take place right next door to Loop, at our lovely neighbour Frequency Coffee. Please come to Loop at least a few minutes before the class starts and we will  and bring you over to Frequency, to settle you in with a free coffee as well. 

Saturday the 2nd of August 2025 –    3 hour class

Morning :  11:00 – 2:00pm

Maximum of 9 students per class.

Participants will need:

3, 3.5, or 4mm hook. Ideally bringing at least a couple of different hooks to match your yarn weight.

4ply, Sportweight or DK yarn in different colours, at least two balls to create the two tone motifs, or oddments of lots of different shades from your stash to create a colourful crochet project. You can bring yarn to begin a purse, cushion or blanket, for which the patterns will be provided, or just some scrap yarn to play with – or both!

(Loop will provide some yarns to swatch and play with as well.)

Learners – it may also be helpful to bring a pen to make your own notations on the given worksheets or in a small notebook as often these notes are really helpful as an aide memoire after the class has finished.

Roseanna is the artist and designer behind Moara Crochet. Through her passion for crochet and craft she designs crochet patterns for those who are ready to progress beyond beginner level. With over 10 years of experience crocheting, Roseanna creates crochet patterns for women, children and for the home. With crochet designs published with Pompom publishing, Belle Crochet, Happy Hooked magazine and Hobbii.

100% deposit is required at registration.

A refund of payment for a class will be given for cancellations only if the spot can be filled by another student, minus a 10% admin fee. Please be considerate.

We reserve the right to cancel a class in unusual circumstances. We try to avoid this wherever possible, but sometimes it cannot be avoided. In this situation, of course, a full refund will be given.

We’re sorry, but Loop cannot be financially responsible for extreme weather conditions or any other situations that are out of its’ control.

If we need to cancel the class due to any unforeseen circumstances, we will of course offer you a full refund or shop credit (whatever your preference is).
